Indira Mukherji
I am a teacher by profession, painting is my passion. I have done Masters in Science from Visvabharati University, Santiniketan and Fine Arts from University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
I am fortunate to live by the coast where I get constant inspiration from the opulence that the nature provides. The grandeur of Pembrokeshire landscapes - it’s coastline, lush meadows and the riots of colours that paint the sunset sky create strong emotional images in my mind which guides me to create my canvases into colourful extravaganza. I try to create aesthetic paintings that capture the energy of the profound moments as it moves through time and space.
What I express in my paintings are not always what I see, but how I feel about what I see and experience. I like to use strong colours and bold brush strokes to make the canvas vibrant.
As a mature painter, after graduating many years ago, I am still risking, pushing the edges and striving for that fresh and alive work of art that feeds my soul.
I work with oil, acrylic and mixed media.
